"The Way of Benedict"
More on acceptance, freely accepting our limitations without limits. A paradox, I know, but is that not the essence of most wisdom? Today I will be exploring the ancient way of life shown to us in the order, or way of life, developed by
Benedict of Nursia in 500 AD

There will be a pick-up discussion group after the service.

Jamie McGill (husband of Cindy McGill) passed away today. There will be an evening visitation followed by a memorial service honoring his life this Wednesday or Thursday at Cooke funeral home in Nitro. More details will follow. May light perpetual shine upon him.

Cindy's addres is 3322 Second Ave, Nitro,
25143.

Quick Prayer list: for Cindy, Maureen, John, Marty, and all of Jamie McGill's family. For
Julia, and Mike.

"What are our Limits?"
Today I want to explore the tension between thinking without limits and the acceptance of our limitations. New Thought usually suggests that the only limitations are the one's in our own minds. While this seems to be true in many ways, are there limits that even our minds can not get past? IS it better to accept them or challenge them? How do we decide when to do which?
This tension seems to be the basis of the Serenity Prayer (Give me the courage to change the things I can, the serenity to accept the things I cannot, and the wisdom to know the difference.)  I will be drawing on examples from the life and teachings of Jesus, Charles Filmore, parenting, and the Benedictine way of life.

There will be a pick-up discussion group after the service.

Lenna Schultz passes away this past Wednesday. There will be a memorial service honoring her life this next week on Tuesday or Wednesday. More details will follow. May light perpetual shine upon her.

Quick Prayer list: for Julia, Mike, and Jamie.
