Today's Daily Word - Wednesday, October 28, 2009 Contribution I am love in action, contributing to the well-being of others. God's love expresses through me to bless others. I perceive the people with whom I interact as the children of God they truly are. I look for opportunities to be of help, to appreciate and to make a positive contribution. I find many opportunities to give from my heart. I extend a wave and a warm smile to a neighbor, call or e-mail a friend or relative, or give time and attention to someone in need. I look beyond the outer persona of those who seem unfriendly or impolite and behold their true essence. For all those I meet or think of today, I say a silent blessing: I behold the Christ in you. I visualize you whole, happy, prosperous and peaceful. "Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God; everyone who loves is born of God and knows God."--1 John 4:7

I joyously accept God's blessings.

As I take a moment to acknowledge God's presence within and around me, I set the tone for the day ahead. Centered in God, I welcome this day with anticipation. The possibilities are endless, and the good is overflowing.

If an event or situation threatens to dampen my enthusiasm, I pause, take a deep breath, and re-center myself in the loving presence of Spirit.

With God, I have all I need to be happy, fulfilled, and whole. I accept the blessings of peace and wisdom and express these qualities throughout my day.

New avenues of good are unfolding in every area of my life. With an open heart, I joyously accept God's blessings.

Mountain Stage NewSong Contest this Saturday night at the Culture Center

Friends,

Since we don't have a Woody Hawley Concert this month, I wanted to
recommend a great show that is happening next saturday October 10 at
the Culture Center at 7:30.

Now in it's 8th year, the Mountain Stage Newsong Contest is one of the
premier showcases of emerging artists in North America. 12 talented
finalists from across the United States and Canada will perform their
original material and compete for a chance to perform on an
international broadcast of National Public Radio's Mountain Stage.

The finalists are chosen from over a thousand singer song/songwriters
- this year the talent level is off the charts!  Come help identify
the next Nora Jones or the next John Mayer.  The winner will perform
the very next day on a Mountain Stage show in Athens, Ohio at Ohio
University.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased @ 800-594-TIXX (8499) or
www.newsong-music.com. Local ticket outlets are  Taylor Books, Budget
Tapes & Records, The Pied Piper of Charleston, Gorby's M, Fret n'
Fiddle in St Albans. and Route 60 Music in Barboursville.

I highly recommend this event which also includes a wine and cheese
reception afterwards while the judges deliberate. Hope to see you
