Release - Renounce - Let Go and The 8% Challenge

Release - Renounce - Let Go

There is mental clutter and spiritual clutter, an physical clutter, clutter is inside and out, Clutter is anything that slows down the circulation of life. Have too much inner clutter in your life, and body? Read on!

This Sunday at 10:30am, right before the Annual Burning Bowl Ceremony, the Unity Men's Dinner group will be hosting "The 8% Challenge"

What is The 8% Challenge?
Actually, I'm not completely sure, but it seems to have something to do with losing weight and eating and living a more healthy lifestyle. This is a major goal of many of our men.

The first weigh in is this Sunday at 10:30.

AND, since competition and team play seems to be a great motivator for many of us (probably part of he man thing), the goal is to be the first person to lose 8% of their body weight.

AND, since a competition would not be much without a reward, (man thing again) there is a pool ($20 to enter) and the winner wins the whole enchilada (fat free, of course).

In other words, Lose your Pot to Win the Pot!

BUT WAIT! The women have already started to protest. They want a private weigh-in, secret accounting of the numbers, and a gender separation (claiming their metabolisms lose weight at a slower rate), and the option to opt out of the pot.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN? HOW WILL THIS END?!! I don't know! The rules are being drawn up even as we speak.

But here is the message for today: eat and drink as much as you can over the next two days. And join us for some fun and the joy of letting go at the Burning Bowl Ceremony this Sunday.

And remember, you really are a Blessing!

The Power of Release

The Power of Release

"Release is my ability to give a "no thank you" response to the untrue, undesirable or worn-out. It is my ability to forgive, free myself, break bad habits not be controlled, and let go. Release use the "vacuum principle" you letting go off mental and physical "stuff," so that God has space and place to be realized" -- Twelve Powers in You

Burning Bowl Ceremony is at Unity this Sunday at 11am - a great way to start the new year! Join us!

And remember, you really are a blessing!

Preparing for the Burning Bowl at Unity

This Sunday, the first Sunday of the New Year will be Unity's annual burning bowl cerimony. I would like to invite you to come and release whatever may be holding you back! This is a great way to start off the New Year.

Please consider spending some thoughtful time this week considering your gifts and talents, what you would like to increase in your life, and what you would like to decrease. And if there is anything that is holding you back from a closer walk with your Source, please consider in prayer if this is a good time to let that thing go!

And remember, you really are a blessing!

Thoughts become things, so chose the good ones!

Wed, Dec 16, 2009 at 7pm
at our North Charleston Building

+++++

From UKV Board President:

All,

I'm pleased and excited to announce that today, Monday, December 14th, 2009 Unity of Kanawha Valley has completed it's real estate transaction for the purchase of our new home on the corner of Bridge Road and Myrtle Road!  All the papers are signed, the down payment made, and keys have been transferred!

Today Unity of Kanawha Valley starts on the next chapter in the story of it's ministry in Charleston, WV.  There is still much work to be done before we can move in and make it our home.  I have every confidence that we will succeed.

Please take a moment to reflect on our purpose and mission statements and whisper a prayer of gratitude and blessing.  We have been truly blessed to have this opportunity to grow and fully realize Unity's fullest potential in West Virginia.

Our Purpose
We are a demonstration of God's unconditional Love.
We realize our Oneness and we honor our uniqueness.

Our Mission
We exist to inspire positive Christianity
through music, lessons, affirmations, prayer and meditation;
to celebrate spiritual growth and demonstrate God's unconditional love
through fellowship and loving acceptance;
to realize that God provides us with everything we need.

Thank-you all to everyone who has been involved so far and to all those who will be in the future!  You are all a blessing!
