Saying Goodbye

This Sunday Feb 28 will be our last Sunday service in our Blaine Boulevard Church. Blaine Boulevard has been a special home for Unity of Kanawha Valley and has served us well. In preparation for the goodbye service, I am asking everyone to think about what this space has meant to you, and to consider sharing your thoughts and feelings. The building has served us well, and now it is time to honor these many years of service as we prepare to let ot go.

As a preparation for letting go, you can write down some of your thoughts using this survey link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/RW3RNFX

Please be sure to join us, Sunday, Feb 28 at 11am,  for this special event in the life of our congregation.

Fwd: moving boxes tomorrow after church

Hello everyone,

Thank you so much for everyone that braved the snow this morning to pack up boxes at Blaine Blvd.  It was suggested by several people this morning that if anyone is going (or would be willing to go) by the new church tomorrow after our church service to please take some boxes by the Myrtle Road church.  It will make our moving day next Saturday so much easlier.

                        Thank you so much,

Pam

Unity work party Saturday at Blaine blvd

Work party plans from Peggy G

Saturday -

The Saturday Work Party will be held at the Blaine Blvd. church
beginning at 9:30 AM.  Please bring any move-worthy boxes you may have
as we'll be packing for our move next weekend.  Many thanks to
everyone for their hard work over the last few weeks.  We have
accomplished so much more than we ever thought we would and are on
target to meet our move-in date, and we couldn't have done it without
pulling together, rolling up our sleeves and digging in!  This
experience has been spiritually strenghthening to our Unity family and
so positive for everyone involved.  See you Saturday at Blaine Blvd.!

"Reflections of Grace"
A lesson by Kathy Johnson
There will be a drop in discussion after the service, everyone is welcome to join in. We are still meeting a Blaine Ave.

The Painting Party Continues this Saturday at 10:00am!
Here is an idea from Peggy: "How does a soup cook-off sound?  I thought it would be fun to combine our work party this Saturday with a good-natured soup competition.  Make a pot of your favorite soup - bring your crockpots, Dutch ovens, kettles or whatever.  We've got a GREAT kitchen with lots of outlets for crock pots and two - count them, two - cooktops in our new kitchen.  We will assign a number to your pot of soup and taste testing with voting will begin around Noon.  The winner will get their choice of a book from our UKV Bookstore.

Progress report - last Saturday we got a lot accomplished.  The Activity Room downstairs is now a beautiful coffee shade - warm and inviting.  The downstairs bathroom has a second coat and is basically finished.  The Library (the room at the top of the stairs that has a fireplace in it) has been primed and is ready for painting of the walls and trim.  The hallway is getting closer to being ready for paint.  So our objectives for this week are:

1.  Paint the library, including trim.
2.  Paint the hallway, including doors and trim.
3.  General cleanup.
4.  Food and fellowship - the BEST part!

Hope to see you there about 10 AM." Check out the latest news: http://sites.google.com/site/unityinwv/we-are-moving

Saturday's Work Party at Bridge Road Unity

-------- Forwarded message ----------

From: peggun@aol.com

Date: Fri, 05 Feb 2010 10:01:30 -0500

Dear Unity Friends -
Realizing the predicted snowfall may or may not occur, I hope to see you at our Bridge Road facility on Saturday morning.  I would like to ask if you're attending and planning to stay till around lunchtime, please bring a dish to share for lunch.

We had a small work/prep session at the church yesterday.  Pam, Linda and I have been meeting there for the past 3 or 4 weeks on Thursday afternoon and getting some things done.  Yesterday Linda's Dad, Bill, was a great help at spackling and Lisa Beck painted woodwork in the Children's Room.  We plan to continue this Thurs. afternoon work party for the next few weeks, so anyone who would like to join us can call my cell at 304-437-4158 to make sure we're going to be there.

Our objectives for tomorrow are:
1.  Preparing walls (washing, sanding, spackling, more sanding) in the Lending Library (the room at the top of the stairs), the Central Hallway upstairs, and the Long Hallway upstairs.
2.  Painting above areas.
3.  Second coat of paint on Kitchen.
4.  Second coat of paint on downstairs bathroom.
PLEASE BRING TOOLS if you have them for spackling and painting.  Please mark your tools so you can identify them.

Thanks so much!

Peggy

"Painting a Picture of Love"
Reminding ourselves of what love can look like.
We are still meeting a Blaine Ave.

There will be a discussion after the service

Spirit Cinema this Friday, potluck at 6:30, movie at 7 (Blaine Ave)
Ocean Of Pearls is a film that speaks to all of us about accepting ourselves as we are.  The question "Can I change in order to do what I love, be who I am, have what I want?" is asked.  The answer plays out as the movie entertains the audience with characters no less or more human than ourselves.  Come see.  I think you'll enjoy the evening!   KJ

26 days until our Move!
In the latest a line of demonstrations of abundance: a professional painter has stepped forward and offered to paint the entire sanctuary, backed by a generous supporter, the remaining cost to UKV is $600! (Isn't that amazing, I mean, the whole sanctuary!)

Painting Party this Saturday at 9:30am

Meanwhile, the Painting Party Continues in the rest of the church continues, rain or shine, snow or sleet, this Saturday at 9:30am!

Looking for a few supportive listeners
As we grow so do our needs, and I am finding I could use help with making visits to our friends and members when they are in the hospital. Would you be willing to help? Please let me know if you are! We will be starting a little training session soon. - Sky
