Unity Sunday May 30 - Flower Communion and Remembering Now

Unity
Positive, Practical Christianity

Sunday, May 30 at 11am - Unity on Bridge
Flower Communion - please bring several cut flowers to share

"Remembering Now" Sky will be speaking
Memorial Day has come to be one of my favorite Sundays at Unity. Why, because so much of developing a Christ consciousness is being in the Now, and sometimes that is the hardest thing to remember. It's something we all know (or knew!) how to do, though it is so easy to forget. We gather each week, to remember.

We will also be having our first flower communion of the season. What's a flower communion? Bring a few cut flowers and find out! It is awesome!

Music with Ron, Jack, Ryan, and perhaps a special guest.

Open Stage for Kids - tonight, Friday, May 28
Sign up starts at 6pm, music starts at 6:30, pizza at 7:15

Church Gardens Group - this Saturday, May 29 at 9:30am
We have the plans!  We will have the plants!  Now all we need are the helping hands to get this project moving.  We would like to have a "Landscaping Work Party" this Saturday, May 29, at UKV on Bridge Road.  Bring your garden tools - rakes, shovels, gloves, and planting implements.  We plan to meet around 9:30 AM to beat the heat and still have time for those that will have the energy to attend some of the Vandalia Festival events later in the day.  We will be planting the area in front of the church according to the design that was created for us by Valley Gardens.  Additionally, we would like to have a "Community Garden" in the area immediately behind the church next to the building.  Bring lots of perennials to plant and to share with your friends and hopefully to take some new ones home to your garden.  If we get enough workers, we could be done by Noon.  Come join us!

Pray for Others
I connect with Spirit as I pray for others.

When I pray, I connect deeply with Spirit and know I am one with the Divine. In this oneness, I feel connected to my family, friends and community and to all people.

When I pray for another--perhaps someone with a health concern, facing a financial situation or dealing with a family issue--I open myself to Spirit and to the connection we all share. I may pray for the renewal of this person's health, prosperity or peace. However, my prayer for any one person is in truth a prayer for the world. It represents our divine connection.

When I pray for others, just as when I pray for myself, I know my prayers are answered. In thanks, I know that all is well.
