This week's events at Unity

Hello everyone,

 

There are several events going on this weekend at Unity of Kanawha Valley:

 

Saturday (tomorrow) at 10:30am - "Inner Listening" class led by Marianne Gettman.  This class is designed to relieve stress and tension.  The class combines breathing, slow stretching, balance exercises, guided relaxation, chakra meditation, and Qi Gong flow. 

 

Sunday Service at 11am - "What's My Stretch?" by Sky Kershner.  In Sunday's lesson, Sky is going to push forward a few ideas Chris Chenoweth left with us at the workshop.  Can we be even more awake to life, and if so, what would our lives look like?

 

After church service -

     Fundraising committee will meet in the basement to discuss the fall festival on Oct. 29th.

     Introduction to Unity class will meet in the Sunday School room.

     New Unity light blue t-shirts will be on sale in the Lending Library.

Reminder - hot dog sale and Chris Chenoweth

I overlooked some details of the hot dog sale and our Sunday service this weekend.

Unity Excitement !!!

Hi Everyone!

Are you getting excited about this weekend? I know that I am!!!!!

Chris Chenoweth will be speaking this Sunday. I will be there too, because I do not want to miss hearing him. I've been waiting months for his visit! He is the real deal.

If you come to just one service this Fall, this would be the one I would pick!

And his topic: Prosperity is certainly a good one! I can always use more reminders to keep the circulation going.

This Week's Events at UNITY

Hello everyone,

 

There are some very exciting events going on at Unity this weekend:

 

Friday - Open Mic 4 Kids!!! starts at 6:30pm with performers signing up at 6pm.  Performers are from the ages of 5-15.  Free admission.  Parents, grandparents, and siblings are welcome.

 

Saturday - Hot Dog / Bake Goods sale from 11am - 2pm.  Volunteers are needed.  UKV also needs donations of baked goods and/or cans of pop.  Come enjoy a wonderful lunch of hot dogs, chips, drinks, and desserts in the beautiful fall weather.  We also serve veggie dogs and vegetarian chili.

 

Sunday - 10am Introduction to Unity class with Sky.

 

Sunday - 11am church service with guest speaker, Christopher Ian Chenoweth.  His lesson is "The Formula for Permanant Prosperity". 

 

Sunday after the church service - Rev. Chenoweth will be leading a seminar on "The Process of Advanced Prosperity" from 1-5pm.  This seminar is open to the public and free.  Donations will be accepted.

Reminder - Heidi's Dulcimer classes start tomorrow at 6pm.

Hello everyone,

 

Just a reminder that the "Learn to Play Appalachian Dulcimer" classes start tomorrow evening (Tuesday) at 6pm-7:15pm.  This class session runs for 5 weeks from Tuesday (Sept. 20) to October 18th at Unity Church.  The classes are taught by our wonderful Heidi Muller.  Pre-registration is required.  The class fee is $85 for the 5 weeks.  To register, please call 304-382-9422.  Some rental instruments are available; call to reserve.  For more information, check out www.heidimuller.com.

Unity This Sunday

Unity This Sunday

Intro to Unity Class 10:00am - 10:40am
This will be a perfect class for those new to Unity to learn more. Each session we will watch a clip for a DVD by Louise Hay's book "You Can Heal Your Life" and then discuss. The class will go for 5 weeks, you can join in at any time. Childcare will be available (we will have a kids DVD set up in the room next door).

Sunday Celebration 11:00am
"In The Flow"   I am wondering if it all comes down to this: how can we be more in the flow of life.

Pick-Up Discussion  12:30pm - 1:30pm
After the service there will be a discussion about whatever is on your mind, usually related to the theme of the lesson. Anyone is welcome to join in. Bring a snack to share.

We have some fun and lively events at Unity this weekend.

"Bad to the Bone" Karaoke Night (tonight - Friday evening) at 7:30pm.  We always have so much fun.  It is a blast from the past with singing and dancing.  Please bring food to share if you would like.  A big thank you to Blue for his running on his Karaoke equipment and to Wes for being a great MC!!!

hot dog sale - Saturday, Sept. 24th

Hello everyone,

 

Kathy Johnson would like for everyone to know that there will be a meeting after church this Sunday about the hot dog sale on the 24th of September.  Please be at this meeting if interested in participating in the second hot dog sale.  We need to talk about logistics, quantities, donations, and those available to help.  Please email Kathy if you are interested in participating but can not attend the meeting after UKV's church service.  She will endeavor to make the meeting flow and be finished as early as possible.  Kathy's email is mkjohnson92@yahoo.com.

I have a prayer request from Blue.  Please keep his uncle, Paul Hurst in your thoughts and prayers.  Paul is in ICU at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.  The doctors are not sure what is wrong.  They do know that he has a very bad kidney infection along with several other problems.

This week at Unity - starting tomorrow!!!

Hello everyone,

 

There are alot of events going on at Unity of Kanawha Valley starting tomorrow!!!

 

Unity's World Day of Prayer - tomorrow. 

    The church will be open from 9am - 7pm tomorrow for those that would like to come in and pray.  You may pray in the sanctuary or the meditation room at the end of the hallway.

     At 7:30 pm,  Ron Sowell will led a prayer circle in the Activity Room.  There will be song, reading of the Daily Word, a discussion about prayer, and ending song.  The service will last approximately 45 minutes.

 

Ron Sowell's Open Mic - Friday at 7:30 pm. 

      Please join us for Unity's monthly Open Mic and Coffee House hosted by our own wonderful Ron Sowell.  Performers sign up at 7pm.  It is always a wonderful and relaxing evening of entertainment.

 

Sunday Service - at 11 am.

      Reminder to Board members - Board meeting at 9am.

      Sunday Service - Guest speaker- Aila Accad.  Speaking on "Your Ground Zero: How Devastation and Chaos Inspires Creation."

Events This Weekend at Unity

Hello everyone,

 

We have some very exciting events at Unity this weekend:

 

Friday - Spiritual Cinema Night at 6pm.  This month's movie is called "The Perfect Game".   It is definitely a feel good movie.  Food sharing starts at 6pm with the movie starting at 6:30pm. 

 

Saturday - "Inner Listening - Relief for Stress and Tension" class starting at 10:30am and will last approximately an hour.  This class is taught by Marianne Gettman and includes breathing, slow stretching, balance exercises, Qi Gong flow, chakra meditation and guided relaxation.

 

Sunday - Sunday Service at 11am.  Sky will be speaking on the "Four Paradoxes".  There will be a Blessing of the Backpacks (sorry - we forgot last week). 

 

Next Thursday (Sept. 8th) - Unity's World Day of Prayer.  The church will be open from 9am- 7pm for those who like to come and pray either in the sanctuary or the meditation room.
