Please pray for the 5 year old daughter (only child) of friends of my
brother Donny in Nashville. Her name is Ellie and she has been
recently diagnosed with a brain tumor.  She is facing an 8 hour
surgery, probably tomorrow, and then radiation/chemo following. Thank
you for your healing prayers.

UNITY FRIDAY NIGHT SPIRITUAL CINEMA

 

This is a film from long ago that never made it to our Unity Friday night showing.  It is entitled MOTHER GHOST. 

It has an amazing all-star cast, which includes Joe Mantegna, Charles Durning, Dana Delaney, Kevin Pollak,

James Franco, and Gary Marshall.  It is "one man's laugh-out-loud journey to regain control of his mind and his life." 

Relief comes in the form of a radio talk show psychiatrist and a surprising visit from "beond."  1 hr. 25 minutes.

 

Language is a little raw in parts, so children appropriate it isn't.  Bring your potluck dish and let's

Events at Unity of Kanawha Valley this week

Hello everyone,

There are several events happening at Unity this week:

FRIDAY - MOVIE NIGHT AT 6PM.  Food sharing begins at 6pm with the movie starting at 6:30pm.

SATURDAY - INNER LISTENING CLASS AT 10:30AM.  Marianne Gettman leads a class on stretching exercises, chakra meditation, and Qi Gong Flow.

SUNDAY - CHURCH SERVICE AT 11AM.  Sky will be speaking.  Jack Kennedy and Heidi Muller will provide the music.


In UKV news:

A big thank you to David Gettman and Jim Selbe for organinzing and overseeing work on the Carriage Trail that connects to the UKV parking lot.

Congratulations to Nancy Louise Mottesheard who was chosen as "1 of the 55 Best Things About WV" by the WV Business Journal.  Nancy Louise and her artwork will represent Kanawha County.

Weekly Events at Unity

Hello everyone,

The following events are happening at Unity this weekend:

FRIDAY - OPEN MIC 4 KIDS!! AT 6:30PM.  PERFORMERS FROM AGES 5-15 SIGN UP AT 7PM.  No admission.  Ron Sowell will be hosting this month.

SUNDAY SERVICE AT 11AM.  OUR GUEST SPEAKER THIS WEEK WILL BE AILA ACCAD.  Aila will be speaking on "The Ego and the Soul: A Love Story".

David Gettman would like to thank everyone for all your thoughts and prayers for his Uncle Bailey.  He is doing well after his heart surgery. 

A big thank you to the group of people who planted the flowers out front of the church - Peggy Gunter, Ruth Davis, Lisa Beck, David Gettman, and Karen Sylvester.

Thank you to Barbie Dallmann for leading a wonderful workshop last Saturday and donating all the proceeds to UKV.

Also a thank you to Mindy Allenger for organizing and cleaning out the Sunday School rooms.

Thanks to all the UKV volunteers that made the hot dog sale possible.  Especially Danny and Sandy Blair - we couldn't do it without you!!  UKV made over $350!

Hi Pam,

 

Please send a prayer request to everyone for my uncle Bailey who is scheduled for open heart surgery on Monday to have his aortic valve replaced. He lives in Tampa, is 87 years old and has been my traveling companion since I was 4 years old and he returned from combat after WWII.

Hello everyone, I wanted to give you an update on E Bay sales for Unity Prosperity. Last year we made over $ 900.00 in sales, this year I would like to set a goal to double that amount. So if you have something you would like to donate, just bring it to the Church and put it in the meditation room at the end of the hall. I am getting ready to list items like a mad man for this summer, so bring that stuff in and let me get it listed for sale. (Don't tell my wife I called myself a mad man. )  

Thank everyone for their past donations, it takes all of us working on a project to make it happen. Honorable mention for donations are: Ruth, Christopher and Angie, Sharon, Pam, and many others I may not know of or remember. Thank you all.

Hi Pam, here is a prayer request I would like to send out, thanks for all you do. 

I would like to request prayer, positive thoughts, healing light or general mo-jo or what ever you can do to think positive for my wife Susie. Her other foot collapsed last week and now she has a soft cast on each foot / leg. She is truly suffering and tired of this condition, and there is nothing I can do but ask for everyone to keep her in your prayer's etc. Thank you all, you are truly a blessing to both of us.
