Events for this Week at Unity of Kanawha Valley

The following are events at Unity of Kanawha Valley happening this week:

FRIDAY - MOVIE NIGHT.  The food sharing starts at 6pm and the movie starts at 6:30pm.

SATURDAY - "INNER LISTENING" CLASS AT 10:30AM WITH MARIANNE GETTMAN.  This class is for relief of stress and tension. 
   "This is a complete workout for the body, mind, and spirit using conscious breathing, slow stretching, balance exercises, guided meditation, chakra meditation, and Qi Gong Flow."  - Marianne

SUNDAY CHURCH SERVICE AT 11AM.  Sky will be speaking on "Teachers and Guardians at the Threshold." 
     "In this message, we continue the exploration of how each person's life is like the mythic hero's journey.  The topic is on those 'Threshold Moments' when we are at a point of passage into new unknown territory.  The threshold experience often has helpers and teachers, as well as guardians who provide us with learning challenges.  I will be drawing examples for Wizard of Oz, the life of Jesus and Buddha, folk and fairy tales as well as personal life and modern culture.  Please join us for this exploration!  - Sky


SUPPORT OUR TROOPS
Attached to this email is a flyer explaining that UKV will be taking donations to support a group of about 20 soldiers in Afganistan that get limited supplies.  Please bring these into UKV by August 12th.  Please see the attached flyer for more details and the list of items that we are collecting.

Sunday, Aug. 12th - Board meeting at 9am.
Friday, Aug. 17th - "Bad to the Bone" Karaoke Night at 7pm.
Friday, Aug. 24rh - Open Mic 4 Kids! at 6:30pm.
Saturday, Aug. 25h - Hot Dog Sale from 11am - 2pm.
